Marion Mailaender

Marion Mailaender

Marion Mailaender lives and works between Paris and Marseille. After studying at École Boulle, she founded her interior architecture and design studio in 2004.

Her practice spans residential, hospitality and commercial interiors, as well as objects and scenography. Guided by intuition and a strong sense of freedom, she mixes genres, eras and cultural references, often drawing from the 1980s and 1990s to create interiors with character, humour and narrative depth.

Her bold and singular approach has attracted creative figures such as Sophie Calle, Amélie Pichard and Esteban Cortazar, with whom she has developed highly personal projects. From Sophie Calle’s house-studio to Amélie Pichard’s cinematic Paris boutique and the Tuba hotel in Marseille, Marion Mailaender creates spaces that take her clients beyond what they might have imagined.

Her work is defined by bold material choices, sharp detailing and an ability to transform everyday references into poetic, memorable design gestures. Design icons such as Gio Ponti, Mario Botta and Ettore Sottsass sit alongside vintage finds, contemporary pieces and works by emerging designers, shaping a distinctive language within the new French design scene.
