For Jean Paul Gaultier’s La Favorite fragrance launch, Sophie Dries imagines the JPG Club at Lafayette Anticipations as a nocturnal interior where Parisian nightlife is reinterpreted through a distinctly sculptural vocabulary.

The scenography unfolds around the Octa bar, framed by a deep red drape and a composition of polished metal, bronze and selenite. Distorted mirrors, sculptural lighting and a reinterpretation of the disco ball introduce a sense of distortion and spectacle, while Art Deco lines evoke the glamour of 1980s Paris.

Rather than recreating a traditional nightclub, Sophie Dries plays with the codes of the genre to create a space between interior, furniture and sculpture. The project brings together the sensuality of the materials with the irreverent character of Jean Paul Gaultier, creating an atmosphere that feels both sophisticated and deliberately unconventional.
