Created for Design Parade Toulon, L’Oursinade is an immersive installation inspired by the Mediterranean coastline and Marthe Simon’s childhood memories on the Côte d’Azur. Conceived as a poetic seaside dining room, the project evokes the atmosphere of a fisherman’s cabin and the ritual of sharing sea urchins by the water.
At the heart of the project is the traditional southern French technique of calade, using carefully arranged pebbles to cover the interior surfaces with wave-like patterns and mineral textures. This artisanal approach gives the space a strong sense of place, rooted in memory, landscape and craftsmanship.
Custom ceramics, wrought-iron pieces, embroidered textiles and vintage furniture complete the setting, creating an intimate world where nostalgia, savoir-faire and contemporary interior design come together with remarkable sensitivity.
