In the heart of Paris’s Marais district, Thomas Fournier reinterprets the former residence and workspace of François Mansart through a contemporary lens.
Built in 1642, the apartment’s classical heritage becomes the foundation for a refined dialogue between history and modern family life. Fournier highlights proportion, symmetry and restrained ornamentation, with Doric columns, a triglyph frieze crafted by a French plaster artisan, and parquet flooring inspired by the Château de Maisons.
Italian design, travel-inspired references and subtle Asian influences bring a more personal layer to the space. The result is a timeless Parisian interior where craftsmanship, memory and contemporary elegance meet with quiet sophistication.
