For L’Opale Noire, a boutique hotel in Paris’s cultural Left Bank, Thomas Fournier Concina creates an intimate interior inspired by the depth and changing reflections of the black opal.
Working with a rich palette of dark browns, aubergine, ochre and gold, he develops a refined play of chiaroscuro where light reveals textures, fabrics and precious details. References to the 19th century, Oriental influences and Parisian elegance are translated through wall hangings, silks, abaca, custom furniture and layered materials.
The result is a discreet and sensual hotel atmosphere, where Thomas Fournier Concina’s attention to memory, craftsmanship and subtle scenography gives the space a quiet, dreamlike sophistication.
