For FIRN, Rudy Guénaire designs a boutique conceived less as a traditional store than as an experimental testing station, where nature and performance collide.
The space is anchored by a dark opus incertum stone floor, evoking alpine scree fields, while floating display modules in quilted, crinkled and metallic technical fabrics suggest protective shelters or post-minimalist cocoons.
At the heart of the project, Rudy imagines the FIRN Wall as a sculptural, ultra-technical element inspired by Barbara Hepworth’s organic forms and high-altitude snow landscapes. A luminous sphere glows softly at its centre, while suspended domes recall hollows carved by snow.
A central modular island completes the boutique, echoing Antarctic research bases, mountain laboratories and remote alpine refuges. Through patinated aluminium, lacquered glass and fluid curves, Rudy creates a futuristic retail environment shaped by precision, performance and elemental beauty.
