Unheimlichkeit

The collection takes its name from the “unheimliche”, this phenomenon caracterised by a strong emotion in front of a familiar object that Sigmund Freud described in 1919. Although the complexity of the word in German, and its nuances, are difficult to translate – this feeling, on the borderline between the familiar and the strange, is visible through the places and objects that surround us. This concept reminds us that an object can touch us and speak directly to our inner being, continuing our will to imagine furniture as vectors of thought, history and technique.
