Paysans de sieste

For the Fondation Carmignac, Edgar Jayet created Les Paysans de sieste, a series of wooden lounge chairs designed for the sculpture garden of Villa Carmignac in Porquerolles.

Conceived as an ode to Provence, the project draws from childhood memories, agricultural tools and nautical forms, resulting in a piece that appears to blend naturally into the landscape. Its concave wooden structure, white canvas seat and refined handcrafted details create a quiet dialogue between function, memory and place.

Through this project, Edgar Jayet transforms outdoor furniture into a poetic scenographic gesture, where craftsmanship and landscape become part of the same experience.
